Australia's 1st of October 2021 Nicotine Ban 2nd Notice

The Australian October 1st Nicotine "Ban"

We've got the answers and you shouldn't worry.
Up to date information as of 10 Sept 2021
Is nicotine being banned?

No. Though from October 1st, 2021, the Australian Government and Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA) will
require Australian Vapers to hold a prescription before importing nicotine e-liquid products (“unapproved medicines”) under the Personal Importation Scheme.

Where can I get a prescription from?

ATHRA has a
great list of local doctors in every state who are willing to prescribe nicotine for smoking cessation.

Otherwise, you can use a service such as
Quit Clinics to get a prescription online.

Quit Clinics is registered with ATHRA (Australian Tobacco Harm Reduction Association) and has authorized Australian Doctors who specialize in nicotine prescriptions. Quit Clinics turn around timeframe is typically within 24 hours, and if they're unable to help they will provide a full refund.

Use code: AUG10 for 10% off your consultation fee. (Code has been extended to work in September.

What is Vapoureyes NZ doing after October 1st?

They are shipping orders as normal, and have already implemented a prescription-upload service on their cart page. You can upload either an image/photo of your prescription, or a PDF file.

Please note that they do not store your prescription - you will have to upload it every time you place an order.

Vapoureyes will continue to fulfil all orders with all products - the onus is on you to ensure that you hold a valid prescription and are purchasing what you're prescribed.

Do I need to upload a prescription at checkout?

Seriously, you do not need to send us a copy of your prescription.

The TGA recommends a copy of your prescription to be enclosed with the package the product is sent in, but this is not a requirement.

Read more information here.

Purchase limits, before October 1st.

At this stage they are not setting any limits on purchase quantities.
Please keep in mind that orders over $1000 AUD are potentially subject to extra scrutiny/duties at the border - as such, if you require more than $1000 AUD worth of products, we recommending spacing multiple, smaller orders over a few weeks.

Purchase limits, after October 1st:

According to the
Personal Importation Scheme you can order a three-month supply of your prescribed nicotine products.

Vapoureyes does not enforce these limits / order quantities.

Ordering 100mg/ml Nicotine and E-Liquids in the same order?

Just a quick reminder that they are unable to ship 100mg/ml nicotine via DHL.
As such, we recommend purchasing your juice, disposables and hardware in a separate order with DHL shipping (free on orders over $150!) - then placing a separate order for any high-strength, DIY nicotine to be shipped via our Nicotine Safe shipping option.

COVID Delays:

Alongside every other business on the planet, they are experiencing delays in DHL and standard delivery due to COVID restrictions. Allow an extra 2-7 days on timeframes for both DHL and standard shipping.

If purchasing 100mg/ml without uploading a valid prescription we recommend (due to delays at the border) you purchase this sooner rather than later (to clear customs) as this is sent only via Nicotine Safe shipping.

Best way to store your nicotine products:

Nicotine Concentrate: in your home freezer in a
secure lockable safety bag
E-Liquids: in your home fridge, sit out for a few hours to warm up to room temperature before using.
